The modern world we live in today requires a very high degree of stress which cannot escape. However we have to learn to control, and balance positive and negative energy generated by the stress of modern life. Hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, ulcers, headache, are some of the many consequences of stress and many people end up getting other diseases when seeking a drug without the fighting or controlling of the cause. To assist in this process, the alternative therapies have been growing among them Shiatsu.

Born in Japan, it had its origin in other massage called Amna using techniques such as rub, grope, squeeze with your fingers, etc.

Although each therapist use a variety of techniques, all have a common principle based on the life force known as “KI” or “QI”, for us occidentals, energy. If our body has energy, it runs for some way, what we call meridians, the corresponding for blood that runs in the arteries and veins. According to Japanese therapy, each meridian is connected to an organ or function and their psychophysical Chi, can be played at certain points along its route represented by a map that are the same points of acupuncture. In Japanese, these points are “tsubôs”. The pressure is applied in certain areas and points of the human body, by thumbs, fingers and palms, without the use of any mechanic instrument.

Shiatsu consists in touching those points where the energy stagnated and release it.
